No more in motion use on Standby Mode

Well, Starlink is at it again! They've changed Standby Mode to disable in motion connections. You can no longer use it while driving. This is now on the Starlink website:

OK Colby, so I received the free, ($5) a month mini a few months ago. So what you are saying is we are not able to use it by putting it on top of our car and traveling with it on standby. We have to be literally stopped somewhere in order to use it for five dollars a month. Will we be charged more if we use it? Thank you for all you do to help us with STARLINK!

JoeR Correct, you won't be able to use it while driving on the $5/month Standby Mode. But it will still work while stopped. You won't be charged more by driving with it, it just won't connect.

cbaber awesome!thank you very much appreciate all your help! It’s crazy all these companies that came out with all these magnetic and suction cup holders and now they’re gone to the wayside. In fact, I spent a lot of money on a magnetic one. It is really good. hopefully one day STARLINK will bring it back. Seems like every week they come out with another change. Thanks again.

Do you think at some point in time that they will bring back the in motion standby mode for driving

I doubt it. I can see them offering a new, cheaper plan. They had Roam 10GB, took that away, and people on that plan just went to Standby. There is high demand for a low speed/data plan but people don’t want to pay $50/month. $10-$20 would be a good range to introduce some new Roam plan.
